Background

JPM Foundation International is a UK-registered charitable organization (REG. No. 15215615) founded by Ms. Cissy Odu and named in honor of her parents, John and Phoebe Muzei. Born, raised, and educated in Uganda, Cissy, served as a Nurse before dedicating herself to community service upon relocating to the UK in the early 2000s.

Her philanthropic journey began in 2007, supporting communities in her birthplace. This commitment culminated in the formal establishment of JPM Foundation International in 2020. Drawing inspiration from her humble beginnings and her parents' sacrifices, Cissy champions the belief that true success is measured by the positive impact we create in the lives of others.

Governance & Leadership

JPM Foundation International operates with a strong governance framework that upholds transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership. Our leadership structure includes board of trustees, operating committees, regional ambassadors, and community representatives - Responsible for overall oversight, strategic planning and implementation, regional cordination, and grassroots supervision respectively.

Key governance principles include:

Term Limits – Leadership roles are capped at five years to encourage fresh perspectives while recognizing long-term contributions.
Leadership Transitions – Resignations must be formally submitted to ensure smooth transitions.
Ethical Standards – Leadership members must uphold the foundation's mission and values. Breaches of conduct, conflicts of interest, or ethical violations may result in termination following due process.

Our Impact

Since its inception, JPM Foundation International has made significant strides in Eastern Uganda, particularly in Kamuge, Pallisa District:

Healthcare Impact (JPMedicare Initiative): Reduced childhood mortality from 17 to 2-3 cases per month and maternal mortality from 5 to 0-1 per month. Life expectancy and elderly care have significantly improved.
Education (JPM Scholarship Initiative): School dropout rates have decreased from 50% to 5%, supporting numerous children in completing vocational and university education. Many beneficiaries have become professionals, including doctors, teachers, and artisans.
Household Empowerment: Enhanced income generation and improved living conditions through housing support, skill development programs for mothers, and local credit initiatives to combat poverty.
